ANATHEMA ‘RESONANCE’ SHOWS

Resonance_Crop

Anathema have steadily built a loyal following worldwide, and their career trajectory is unlike that of any other band in the last quarter century, and will be reflected and celebrated in reverse chronological order at a series of special ‘Resonance’ anniversary shows.

Starting with the anthemic progressive rock of their recent work, the performance will gradually move back in time through the more gothic-oriented material of 1998’s Alternative 4 and 1996’s Eternity, all the way back to the pioneering work of 1995’s The Silent Enigma and the 1993 debut Serenades, with Patterson and White joining the band onstage for an historic reunion. Three shows have been announced already:

Sunday 12th April 2015 – Roadburn Festival, Tilburg – Tickets
Thursday 16th April 2015 – O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, London – Tickets
Friday 17th April 2015 – The Academy, Dublin – Tickets

Guitarist Danny Cavanagh mentioned – “The Anathema ‘Resonance’ Tour will be a celebration of the band’s entire history, and to be joined by our old friends and comrades Duncan Patterson and Darren White for these exclusive shows will be a very special, potent and positive event for all of us. We hope you can join in this once in a lifetime celebration”.

OPETH 25TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW AT LONDON PALLADIUM

Opeth 660x330

OPETH are set to celebrate their landmark 25th Anniversary as a band next year with a very special event at the legendary London Palladium on 18th October 2015. After being the heaviest band to play the Royal Albert Hall (in 2010), they will no doubt be the heaviest band to also play the Palladium.

The unique show, dubbed ‘An Evening with OPETH’ will feature two sets from the progressive Swedes, including 2005’s much-lauded ‘Ghost Reveries’ album in its entirety (which in turn is celebrating its 10th anniversary), plus a second set of classics from their 25-year career.

Frontman Mikael Akerfeldt is looking forward to the show, informing us; “The forces that be put up a very mystical and subtle little advert on the so called internet. Yes, we will celebrate 25 years of being Opeth in 2015 and this is reason enough to gather up the forces and play. For you. At the Palladium in London. Not sure if they have a dress-code there, as it is a posh little place. Do we care? No we don’t. It will be a pretty unique evening I reckon, hopefully free of technical difficulties. No thanks to Baal! With that said, we are a live band in the true sense of the word and you can never be certain. Regardless it will be a blast and I strongly advise you to think about attending. But don’t think for too long. It might cost you your seat! We’re currently on tour (Hey! Thanks European progrockdeathmetalheads! You are absolutely fantastic and we love you!) and I’m being called for, so gotta dash. Ta-ta!”

Tickets go on general sale at 9am this Friday 14th November and will be available from HERE, with a pre-sale set for 9am Thursday 13th. A very limited amount of VIP upgrades, priced at £150 will also be available on pre-sale which allow early entry into the venue, a 20 minute ‘meet n’ greet’ with the band, a commemorative VIP laminate pass, a gift box containing 3 hand engraved, show-exclusive Opeth red wine glasses (exclusive to VIPs of this show only), a tour poster printed on canvas (also exclusive to VIPs of this show only) and your choice of t-shirt from the merch booth. These are expected to sell out extremely quickly so be prepared to move fast if you want VIP upgrades.

OPETH are also set to appear as special guests at next year’s Bloodstock Festival in August. More details can be found here: www.bloodstock.uk.com

PARADISE LOST BEGINS RECORDING NEW ALBUM!

Ester Segarra

After taking a trip back in time with the “Tragic Illusion 25 (The Rarities)” album and the last studio album “Tragic Idol” (2012) which entered the charts in over 10 European countries– most notably #2 in UK Rock Charts, #6 in Germany, #15 in Austria, #30 in France and #32 in North America Top New Artists/Heatseeker Charts, it’s now time for PARADISE LOST’s 14th studio album!

The band is about to begin the recording sessions for their much anticipated 14th studio album with Jaimie Gomez Arellano from Orgone Studios in London (Ghost BC, Ulver, Cathedral, Angel Witch) – www.orgonestudios.com

Nick Holmes comments:

“We wanted to approach the new album differently this time, by embracing the bands VERY early days with the last few years, we have written a very dark yet melodic album but this time many songs definitely have a death metal edge which is something we haven’t done for a long, long time in Paradise Lost.”

The new album is tentatively scheduled for a worldwide release through Century Media Records for late April 2015.

DEVIN TOWNSEND – Z2 ALBUM TEASER + TOUR

Official Press Release!

Devin Townsend Project announce European tour dates and Z² trailer.

Following the announcement of the long-awaited new Devin Townsend Project album Z² and the subsequent lightning-fast sell out of London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall venue for his show on the 13th April next year, they can now reveal an extensive run of European shows for 2015 which will include support from Periphery and Shining.

Devin had this to say:

“Now that the recording and mixing for Z2 is finished, it’s time to gear up for touring again! There’s a bunch of events coming up, and one of them that I’m extremely proud to announce is a European headlining tour with support from the incredible Periphery and the insane Shining!

That’s a heck of a line -up I think, each band is doing something unique from each other, yet are really well defined. It will be an opportunity for us to explore our back catalog as well as the Z2 albums, Sky Blue and Dark Matters (from the upcoming double album, Z2).

One of the greatest things about doing this for as long as I have is that we get to do these sorts of awesome events. I can’t even begin to express how honored I am to share the stage with these incredible bands, and to have such overwhelming support from the audience lately. It’s honestly just an absolute pleasure to do this.
So it is with great pride I invite you to the show! Hopefully we come near you, let’s do this!

Devin =)”
