…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead recently announced a run of European tour dates this Autumn. They can now reveal that their new album, titled ‘IX’ will be released in Europe on the 20th October and the US on 11th November. OPETH ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN CO-HEADLINE TOUR WITH IN FLAMES!
TREK GETS UNDERWAY DECEMBER 3RD IN CHICAGO, IL
NEW ALBUM “PALE COMMUNION” ARRIVES ON AUGUST 25TH
Roadrunner Records group Opeth have announced details of their return to North America for a coast-to-coast co-headline run with In Flames. The nationwide trek, which will also feature support from Red Fang, is set to get underway on December 3RD at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago, IL and traverse North America through the end of the month.
Limited VIP tickets will be available Wednesday, August 13th exclusively through Artist Arena with general public on sale starting Friday, August 15th. A pre-order for ‘Pale Communion’ can also be added at check-out. The first 275 copies of the standard edition 1CD will come with a booklet signed by the band.
“We are delighted to return to North America to tour our latest album ‘Pale Communion,’” commented Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt. “This will be the first of two North American Tours and the fact that we are teaming up with our old friends In Flames for this co-headline tour means that we can get to play some large venues and present our new stage show. I am also looking forward to drinking expensive whiskey with Anders on his account!”
In Flames frontman Anders Fridén added, “I met [Opeth guitarist] Mikael [Akerfeldt] for the first time in 1998 during the recording of Opeth’s album ‘My Arms, Your Hearse.’ I was working in the studio and we’ve been friends ever since. Now 16 years more beautiful, we release albums in the same cycle and it’s with great honor and pleasure that In Flames share stage with our friends and fellow countrymen in Opeth.”
The co-headline tour will celebrate the release of Opeth’s much awaited new record “Pale Communion,” set to arrive on August 25TH. The album which was produced by the band’s very own Mikael Åkerfeldt and mixed by longtime collaborator and Porcupine Tree frontman/guitarist Steven Wilson, is currently available for pre-order via the iTunes Store. ‘Last Fair Day Gone Night’ features the Swedish dark rock/metal masters at their glorious best with this electrifying set from London’s esteemed Koko venue, with the band’s captivating performance captured on DVD with accompanying double audio disc of the whole concert. This special 4-disc set, released 15th September, also includes a full & extensive documentary charting the early days and subsequent rise of the prolific Swedes, as told in the words of band masterminds Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström.
Recorded during a series of special celebratory shows to mark the band’s 20th anniversary during 2011′s ‘Last Fair Day Gone Night’ tour, founding members Anders Nyström & Jonas Renkse are joined by drummer Daniel Liljekvist, plus guitarist Per Eriksson and bassist Niklas Sandin, for an exhilarating evening fuelled by a rich & extensive set of Katatonia tracks both past & present.
